Friday Brain Dump...

I haven't kissed my husband in 2 weeks. I've been sick and so has he...I'm going stir crazy I just wanna make out with my hot man.

My child may or may not have screamed for an entire hour at 3:00am. We could not figure out what he wanted expect being in the bed with me, which is weird because he never sleeps with me and was not allowed to last night either, so sorry neighbors for that brutal hour, and thank you for not calling child protective services on us.

I was very rude to a sales man today at a craft store. He called me Miss, which way rubbed me wrong and then proceed to tell me how I was looking like a teenager while Max did a bunch of ninja kicks and cried for his dad. I was already irritated because my order took a month and they only said 2 weeks...so I was on edge...and have you tried to function with a head cold?

Also have you listened to the radio lately? I had to because there was nothing in my car...wow never going to do that again there is awful music out there.

Lastly we may or may not be moving to EDH for the summer....I will confirm soon enough.

Happy Friday all, go make out with your husbands because I can't with mine. Oh and dear head cold please go away because my head feels like its been run over by a tractor.

Sickie...

We are sick around these parts. We have been up in EDH for 5 days and made the drive back into San Diego last night, stuffy runny noises and all. Max was a champ 16 hours of driving in 5 days is no fun for a wiggly baby. Larry interviewed with 3 firms from Fresno up to Folsom and we are waiting to hear by the end of the week if he has a job for the summer. {fingers crossed}

I'm feeling grateful and rejuvenated after this weekend. We have had some trials over this semester and last which I've expressed over this blog and I had really been in a funk. Just not optimistic, loosing faith and this weekend really got me back on track. I'm feeling uplifted and ready to continue on. I keep thinking things have been really rough, but we keep pressing on and in the end things will work out. I am recommiting myself to daily scripture study, prayer, and saying I love you to my husband. These are the things I CAN DO daily and that is good enough for now.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and thoughtful emails and such, that is what life is all about, encouraging and helping each other make it out alive!

And Then He Turned 8 Months

My Max is 8 entire months old.

I'm feeling a little sad about it...he is getting so big and I am missing my tiny baby.

He weighs 20 Pounds and is 27 Inches {Both 50%}

He crawls, stand up in his crib, and has 2 bottom teeth and 2 tiny top teeth. He can say "Dada" and loves to eat vegetables and anything we are eating. He loves Larry more then he Loves me...I mean the kid LOVES his dad. He shrieks with delight when we pick him up from school and loves getting tossed up in the air. I can't believe how fast he is at moving. He is into everything and is everywhere. He loves to eat paper and dig in the garbage while I am not looking. He loves to kick his legs like a wild man and stick his tongue out all day long.

I Love him. He is Amazing.

The Facebook

Me and Larry watched Social Network once it was in our redbox.

We are cool aren't we? That is what happens when you are in law school and have a baby.

I thought it was so good, nerdy, perhaps. Jumping on the bandwagon...heck yes.

Haven't seen it, go rent it. I Loved it.

It also made me excited for Larry because it deals with IP law and lawsuits, he was loving it, that nerdy law student I love, who wants to be an IP lawyer. Soon only 2 more years?

Another exciting thing? We are going to EDH this weekend!

Surprised. I am! Larry called me today, he has an interview with a firm in Folsom to work for this summer...so we are heading out this weekend for a get away. Larry gets an entire 2 days off this semester and its this upcoming weekend....so vaca here we come!

The day of Romance??

I think NOT

Today was A DAY. You know what I mean? Those days where you are like...OH MY H**** today might be the day I die??

No Romance for me...nope not at all.

Weeks back I didn't even think about what I was scheduling on the 14th of February. But you's truly scheduled shots for the baby and a trip to the DMV all in one stuffed day full of screaming baby, car rides, sore chubby thighs {max's not mine} and long waits in line at the DMV, which I am now considering it should be called the inner circle of hell...seriously.

TO all you Lovers out there...congrats on your day, in the Harris household we are nonlovers and losers and have sore chubby thighs tonight.

A new blog??

I stared a book blog...

I don't know who I feel about it. I love reading and I thought it would be a good way to document things I've read and pass them along to friends who are looking for some good books...

What do you think?

The hard thing is sometimes I'm a fast reader and will read like 2-3 books in a week if Max is sleeping really well, but then sometimes I will only get like 2 done in a month so it might be a slow blog?

Here is the link, tell me what you think? Maybe it could be a collaborative blog where other people post books they are reading. I think its something fun and different.

Happy Friday. Mine is full of laundry and a cranky baby Max.

AM's Favorite day

Did you know Thursdays are my FAVORITE days?

Do you want to know why...do ya do ya??

Because the husband gets off school early...I'm talking SO early. He only goes to school/studies for 5 hours on this beloved day! He comes home early and its our date night or DAY sometimes. Its the best day of the week really....

also Thursday night TV is the BEST. Right? Also I don't have to do the dishes or put the baby Max down to bed...those are the dads Thursday night job. And we need days like these in our lives...there a necessity to survive {see below post}

So Great.

Oh did I mention Max said his FIRST word...yes my son has the gift of speech. Do you want to know what he didn't say Mama...NOPE. I'm the person that grew him for 9 months, pushed him out, and have taken care of him day after day but NOOO he doesn't say Mama he says..

Dada...really I mean Really Max!?! are you trying to break this moms spirit?

Remember little one these first few days??
So sweet.

Happy Thursday

dinner tonight...and a explosion of emotions on the side

I haven't gone grocery shopping for almost three weeks. But we haven't really even eaten out I've just used everything we've had stocked up. Tonight I used the last ground beef and made some simple stroganoff Its easy fast and cheap just what I am.

1 lb ground beef cooked and drained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 pepper
1 small onion chopped
3/4 cup sour cream

cook the ground beef with the chopped onion. Add the soup and salt/pepper and let simmer for 15-20 minutes. Add the sour cream right before you serve. I put it over rice and I added ALOT more pepper because I love pepper. Hope you like it.

In other news. I read an article in an ABA journal about disgruntled law grads and not getting jobs. I freaked OUT. Seriously I am struggling with the debt we are getting into and the fact that who knows if there will be a job for us in the end. I like to joke about it but in the end its a day to day worry. Its overwhelming when you look at the numbers and we are totally living within our means...we are in a crap apartment and have one car...we stretch everything if we can.

Does anyone else feel like...what is the point?? What is the point of pursuing higher education if your not going to make the money to pay it off...{I know, I know in the end it's always worth it} but really is it?? Larry keeps saying what are we going to do we have to just progress on, move forward, continue to live blabla.

Really though I'm opening it all up to you guys...I'm scared to death we are not going to make it, and we will be homeless and in ALOT of debt. I'm worried I am going to have to work{for the record its okay I just want to be home with max} and I'm worried Larry will snap one day from the stress...how is a family and a marriage suppose to survive all this? Larry has the faith Heavenly Father will pull through...I'm a little unsure. {Maybe its me dragging down those blessings} Does anyone else feel this way?

I've seen so many families that have gone before us, survived, conquered family/graduate school and have beautiful homes and happy lives. I wonder though if we will be as blessed or if I should have never used them as examples to make such crazy decisions in our lives. I mean really sometimes things just DON'T work out....will that be us? Anyone else think these things daily? Probably just me...a law school students wife currently drowning in self doubt.

Our Weekend Round Up

So my life was a little CRAZY this weekend. We went up to LA for a couple hours for some interviews Larry had on the UCLA campus for summer internships/fellowships. I have come to the conclusion about myself :

1. I hate LA

2.I should not be driving in insane traffic with a screaming baby in the back because some choice naughty words come very loudly out of my mouth.

3. UCLA campus is AMAZINGLY beautiful. I loved walking around with the baby in tow mind you while I got some funny stares...ya know because who has a baby and goes to college right??

We also went up to Santa Babara and then to our final destination Santa Maria to spend some time with my Uncle's family for Superbowl weekend. It was fun to be around them and to show off little rollie pollie mover Max and to just get away from crowded 80 degree San Diego.

We had a great weekend and Max did great on the drive home 5 hours straight...that boy though man really knows how to tell you he is DONE being in the car.

and sadly there is NO pictures of the entire weekend. Fail

I found this today

my life summed up in 6 words....i mean really?!

Is if Friday Yet?

Red/White Pasta

1 bottle Alfredo Sauce
1 can diced tomatoes (I get the Italian flavored ones)
2-4 chicken breasts cubed or cut into cubes or just strips whatever you want
3 cups of cooked pasta (I use penne)

Cook the chicken then add the Alfredo sauce and the diced tomatoes undrained. Add the cooked pasta and incorporate into the sauce then eat! Super easy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am also thinking of making these for valentines day for friends in the ward. They look so good.
I am spray painting today things for Max's Room its a mixture of things room so I am trying to incorporate it all somehow.
I am ready for the weekend. Husband has been gone far to long this week and has been eating with us and then goes back to studying...seriously baby and I are going stir crazy.
Hope everyone has a great day enjoy the food.
Oh P.S...I got this to put on our wall...Don't you love?
How does this happen?
There was a shooting at my moms elementary school today. You can read the story here if you want. It was a long day of phone calls back and forward to my brothers and finally getting to talk to my mom. I feel so sad for the family and cannot believe someone would do this, let alone people that we know. My mom has taught at this school for over 20 years and I just feel so bad for everyone involved.
DMV
I have to conquer the California DMV...
Crap...
Our Utah plates expired yesterday....double crap.
Everyone pray for me {haha} but seriously. I made an appointment for next Monday and thought hey I will stop by this morning after dropping the husband off at school. Drove up, didn't even park. The line was AROUND the building at 7:45 am...are you kidding me!!
There is NO way me and baby in tow were going to sit in the line so pray that we don't get pulled over until next week. Seriously.
Is it sad that I am depressed we won't have Utah plates anymore, and If they try to take away my license I will fight to the death. I like the picture.
